Chauwei Yak founded GAO Capital in 2008. Prior to establishing GAO Capital, Chauwei was Director of Research for a European family office based in New York, managing over $1bn in hedge fund assets, with substantial businesses spanning across Asia. During her time there, she headed selection and due diligence of hedge funds, overseeing the research and portfolio management systems. Prior to this role, Chauwei worked at JPMorgan Chase and UBS in London, Tokyo and New York.


Chauwei is on the Family Office Council of NYU Stern School of Business and the Advisory Board of the Family Office Association.
